In the inevitable global competition that never rests, the pursuit of excellence continues at the front. An excellence that forces us to ourselves, our businesses and our governments to be better than others, but there is no time to stop!
Here we go! Companies in this race, we must not only keep pace, but speed up. Differentiation by quality and innovation is crucial. Who will take the lead? Now that, in addition, they incorporate variables such as artificial intelligence, the big data and biotechnology, we have to adapt quickly to technological changes as we continue to serve our customers, paying payroll and looking for suppliers. But we understand that, if we do not do so, there is already someone waiting to take our place in this free market.
Beware of the twist! Governments are also in this track. Compete for investment, talent, and recognition is not an easy task. Satisfy citizens increasingly demanding, to chairos increasingly used to stretch the hand and neo-liberal eager for more and more, it seems impossible. Excellence seems distant when it has not yet resolved the basics: the universal health care, the safety of our streets, the basic education. But other countries don't expect; the neighbors quickly implement laws of zero tolerance which help them to fight crime, take bitcoins as a currency and lower taxes to attract investment, thus making those million-dollar investments that generate jobs that we all need to be directed to their countries. In Mexico, correct errors can lead us 6, 12, 18, or up to 70 years. Citizens must be able to decide in which direction we should take.
And it is that while some wake up early, others simply do not sleepalways ready, always alert. Individual excellence, corporate or government is a race without a finish line, a commitment to continued progress. We cannot be complacent or allow anyone else to do so; there is always someone more, any new development or change ready to change the rules of the game.
