Mexico: We Are All Guilty

18 Aug 2023

To be clear, what is happening in Mexico, it is the fault of ALL. If you are serious problems, but we did not get here by chance, we are the result of what we have done and we have left to do, and if, the temptation to blame someone else is inevitable, there are even those who can capitalise on this, it is always easier it is to blame the politicians, drug traffickers, to entrepreneurs, to the left or to the rich. But, let's be honest, we all have a bit of guilt. Yes, all of you! From the political, the most corrupt up to the student to more applied, we are all responsible, to a greater or lesser extent, but guilty.

Let's talk about the piñata favorite of the whole party, the political, that while it is true that we have had corrupt politicians in all parties, from the PRI and the PAN until the PRD and MORENA, let's not forget that we are who we chose. We let ourselves be seduced by their discourses, their empty promises. And, once in office, how many actually require them to comply? Democracy is not a joke, but sometimes we act as if it were. The policy is important and we should all practice it.

The education, that which we take the blame for almost everything, we have to accept that parents, teachers, students, everyone must take it into our hands and make an effort to form a society that is more ethical, more responsible. How can we expect a better country if it does not instill these values from the beginning? It is urgent to prioritize the continuous training for teachers, and to promote programs that instill critical thinking from an early age. If we want a better country, we must sow values and a strong knowledge from an early age.

I understood! I will modify that segment to address how health, and your state in the country, it is also a shared responsibility.

**Health**: to Say that health is a right, is not just a cliché, it is a fundamental truth. But this right is compromised when all we don't do our part. On the one hand, we have the lack of investment and planning in medical infrastructure, and on the other, we cannot deny that many of us often choose unhealthy lifestyles, pressing even more a system already overloaded. The hospitals are saturated not only reflect a lack of beds or medicines, there is also evidence from individual and collective decisions that compromise our health: from the excessive consumption of junk food to the resistance to be vaccinated. While it is crucial to demand better health care, and more health centres, it is also essential that each of us make more informed decisions and healthy in our daily life. Health is not just a matter of hospitals and doctors; it is a reflection of our daily choices and the priorities we have as a society. A healthy country is not only the one with high-tech hospitals, but that where its citizens to make healthy choices and aware of your wellbeing and that of your community.

Let's talk about apathy. Sometimes it seems that we don't care what is happening in our country. Those who do not vote, those who do not participate, and are not making a choice with their inaction? We let others decide for us and then we complain about the consequences.

And the family, the pillar of our society. In our homes are forged the values and expectations. What are we teaching our children?

This is not the time for blame, it is time for responsibility. We have all contributed, in some way, the state of our country. But we can also be part of the solution. This is not an armed revolution, but a revolution of conscience. Understand that each one of us has a role in building a better Mexico.

Then, I challenge you. I challenge you to look inward, to that you recognize your failures, but above all to act. Since it is not enough to be indignant, it is time to do something. Don't expect someone else to do it for you. Let's do it together! Because if we are all part of the problem, we are all also part of the solution. So, what role will you play in the construction of a better Mexico? If the solution, we are everyone, the problem is too. And the task of transforming our country touches us all. Are you ready?

**Education**: The root of many problems lies in education. It is imperative to prioritize the continuous training for teachers, and to promote programs that instill critical thinking from an early age. If we want a better country, we must sow values and knowledge solid from the start.

**Health** -: - health is a right, not a privilege. We need to work on expanding medical infrastructure, especially in underserved areas, and to raise awareness among the population about the importance of healthy lifestyles. A healthy country is a strong country.

**Economics**: Mexico has an economic potential immense, but it is essential to support small and medium-sized enterprises, promote transparency in tenders and ensure policies that attract investment without sacrificing our resources.

**Security**: More than law-enforcement bodies and armed, we need a police force who is trained in human rights and the nearby community. Security is not only repress, but to prevent, educate and reintegrate.

**Rule of Law**: The foundation of a democratic country. We must ensure an independent judiciary, the fight against corruption from the root and give voice to citizens in decisions that affect public life.

It's a fact: we need to take decisive action and commitment to transform Mexico. But not enough to ask for changes. Everyone from the common citizen to the public official, we have to be actors in this process. And you, are you ready to take your role and work for a better Mexico? Hands up!
